Blowing up balloons with baking soda and vinegar

Malakai was our teacher for writing today. He showed us an experiment
he had watched on YouTube. We loved Malakai being our teacher and we enjoyed
the exploding chemical reaction of the baking soda and vinegar!

Here our some of our stories - enjoy reading them!

By Tim Johnson

Miss McQuay accidentally squirted Mrs Campbell with a balloon full of baking soda and vinegar. "Aaarrggh!" Mrs Campbell screamed. It gave Mrs Campbell a fright. It went everywhere. Mrs Campbell said that she smelt like a fish and chip shop. Even after three hours she said she smells like a fish and chip shop!!! When the vinegar and baking soda balloon squirted at her, I laughed.

The experiment was exciting and you need baking soda and you need vinegar.

I screamed when it exploded like a bomb. I jumped, My eye ball nearly fell out. We put baking powder and vinegar together and you shake it and shake it. Then you wait.

When Miss McQuay put the baking soda in the bottle, it went all over me. My t-shirt is yellow now. It went all over my hair
and on the ceiling. It leaked from the ceiling.
